Abstract

Paper describes some significant properties of open-loop feedforward compensations for wideband monolithic operational amplifiers. It divides the feedforward configurations into two groups according to the type of interaction between the slow path through the PNP stage and the feedforward path. Configurations for which the two paths are simply additive and configurations where the fast path disables the slow one as the frequency increases are discussed. Characteristics and limitations of the different feedforward types are theoretically analyzed and the conclusions are compared with the results of experimental investigations.
