Abstract

This Letter presents an accurate and stable method for the solution of transient electromagnetic response from conducting wire structures with the use of the time-domain electric-field integral equation (TD-EFIE). By using an implicit scheme with the central finite difference for the TD-EFIE, the transient responses from a wire scatterer illuminated by a plane wave and a wire antenna with an impressed voltage source are obtained. Also, a wire above a conducting plate is considered. Numerical results that show the validity of the presented methodology are presented.
