Abstract

Recurrence techniques are described for the generation of Bessel and modified Bessel functions of the first and second kinds where both the argument and order are real. The method is shown to be accurate for Airy functions, Bessel functions, spherical Bessel functions, modified Bessel functions and modified spherical Bessel functions of the first and second kinds. Computer program details re indicated.
