Abstract

The hydrothermal reaction of a mixture of CuCl2, NaVO3, 4,4'-dipyridylamine (dpa) and Et4NOH in water yields [Cu(dpa)VO3], a material constructed from one-dimensional {VO2O(2/2)}(n)(n-) chains and {Cu(dpa)}(n)(n+) chains linked into a two-dimensional framework.
