Abstract

The title compound has been obtained by treating [Mo(NNHPh) 2(butane-2,3-diolate)2]·H2NNHPh with excess of dimercaptoethane in methanol; X-ray crystallography reveals the first example of a binuclear bis-hydrazido complex and a unique instance of a molybdenum(V) complex exhibiting thiolate co-ordination trans to a strongly π-bonding group.
