Abstract

This letter proposes a design of a multisection phase correcting network to reduce the phase error of broadband differential phase shifters. The phase correcting network is constructed by a pair of parallel multisection coupled lines. With the use of the phase correcting network, the experimental result of the phase deviation is reduced from 6.4° to 2.29deg; for a broadband phase shifter operating from 2.3 to 5.5 GHz (82%). The resultant phase shifter configuration is useful for the construction of quadrature power splitter which has also been designed and fabricated in this letter.
