Abstract

Sodium 2,6-diphenylbenzenethiolate reacts with [MoBr2(CO) 4] to give the chelated η6-arene complex [Mo{(η6-Ph)PhC6H3S-2,6}(SC 6H3Ph2-2,6)(CO)] (1) in good yield, the X-ray crystal structure of which reveals a distorted 'piano-stool' geometry.
