Building a Research Impact Team: Championing the Role of Liaison Librarians

Activity: Talk typesOral presentation

Description

In 2020, Syracuse University Libraries Department of Research and Scholarship developed a Research Impact Team in response to internal reorganization and University-wide initiatives to increase research productivity and rankings. Prior to restructuring, librarians participated ad hoc in initiatives like a supporting campus RIM system, tenure and promotion reporting, Scopus & WoS data clean-up, and had close relationships with the Office of Research. However, these activities lacked sustained effort and designated champions. This team of four subject librarians will discuss their approach to developing their internal expertise, the formation of services to date, and how they have leveraged their unique skills and liaison connections across campus to become a cohesive, recognized unit.
